We Help Churches Rethink How They Approach Evangelism

In other words ... We Help Churches Grow

Every church we have ever talked to has a strong desire to grow. It’s the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20).

And yet, time and time again, we see churches approach Evangelism in the same ways they have for the last several decades. As results continue to dwindle, church leadership is baffled. But even worse, we see some just throw up their hands in frustration and say, “Evangelism just doesn’t work anymore.” When we hear those words, it breaks our hearts. The fact is, Evangelism Does Work! Evangelism just looks different today because things are different today.

Consider the following:

1874

1874

Alexander Graham Bell delivered the first phone

It took 75 years to reach 50 million people

1895

Radio was invented

It took 38 years to reach 50 million people

1895

2004

Facebook launched

It took 2 years to reach 50 million people

2016

Pokémon GO launched

It took 19 days to reach 50 million people

2016

Today

While The Message is Unchanging …

The Method Should Be Continually Modernized

The Outdated Evangelism Model

The way we have approached Evangelism for the last 50 years is to package up the entire conversion process–from start to end–in a single, momentous, one-time series of events (i.e., the traditional Evangelistic event). Not only is it a huge, taxing undertaking for churches, but it is nearly impossible to execute more than once per year.

The problem with this approach:

  • It is inconsistent
  • It is not repeatable
  • It is not predictable
  • It is not trainable
  • It cannot be automated

It is very difficult to improve because it happens so inconsistently

It requires a herculean effort (which makes it nearly impossible to execute more than once per year)

Old Evangelism Model

The New Evangelism Model

The truth is churches are already doing a tremendous amount of Evangelism–it's just the best kept secret in town, and only a few people know about it. Consider this: At a minimum, every church has a service on a weekly basis and typically a Bible study as well. That's 104 Evangelism outreach opportunities–every. single. year. Mix in a prayer meeting once a week and you are up to 156 Evangelistic outreach events annually. And yet, we have this misconception that we aren't Spreading the Word unless we do something additional.

Where we are missing a tremendous opportunity is realizing the full potential of what we are doing every single week.

Here's the good news: The cost to spread the Word in your community in a consistent way has never been more attainable that it is today. That's because technology that was only available to the largest companies in the world is now available to churches.

Rethinking and Repurposing What Your Church is Already Doing

If we spend a few minutes evaluating your church's current efforts, there is a good chance we will uncover a number of opportunities to help you maximize what you are already doing–week in and week out–and have an even greater impact.

Actually, we've discovered 7 Common Roadblocks that are preventing churches from getting the Word out. That's a good place to start.
